William S. Burroughs: A Man Within

by Kelly McCormack

It's hard to come back from this film and not be inspired to disregard social norms, create art, or use drugs.

This site, Naufana.com is in fact named after Burroughs' fictitious city of illusion "where nothing is true and therefore everything is permitted." Just as this artist has referenced Uncle Bill, so have countless others. This film is a testament to his effect on popular and counterculture society, literature, music, art, thinking, living; just as it gives us an intimate glimpse into the effect society had on him.

The courage of this man to write as he did, so long ago, breaking all societal assumptions of decency, is a call to arms for anyone in this modern age to bring your own naked lunch to the table.
